Is Yazio Free? Cost, Trial, What You Get
Yazio has a free tier, but the features people want are paid. Here is what the free version includes, what Yazio costs, and a one-time-purchase alternative.
Is Yazio free?
Partly. Yazio has a free tier with no time limit, and you can log food with it indefinitely. The catch is that the features most people install it for are paid. The free version gives you calorie tracking, manual food entry, water and weight logging and basic macros, with no time limit.
"Free to download" and "free to use the way you want" are different things. If you are happy typing every food and living with ads, the free tier works. If you want the parts that make it convenient, you are looking at a subscription.
How much does Yazio cost?
Pro is $6.99 a month or $47.90 a year, with frequent promotional annual pricing.
Those are the prices we verified in September 2026. Subscription prices change, vary by country, and depend on whatever promotion is running, so the only number to trust is the one on the store screen at the moment you subscribe. Two things worth knowing before you tap it: a yearly plan is charged up front, and a "per month" figure on an annual plan is the yearly total divided by twelve.
The trial: A 7-day free trial of Pro for new users. If you decide it is not for you, we wrote a guide on how to cancel Yazio.
What people run into
- The structured fasting programs, the thing most people install it for, are Pro only.
- Annual pricing swings widely between promotions, so two people can pay very different amounts.
- The trial converts to a paid year automatically.
None of that makes Yazio a bad app. It is known for guided intermittent fasting programs and a large recipe library, and for a lot of people that is worth paying for. It is just worth knowing the model before the renewal hits.
A no-subscription alternative: Silent
Silent is a calorie, macro, habit and fasting tracker for iPhone that costs $3.99 once. There is no free tier that nags you to upgrade, no trial that converts, and no renewal. Every feature is unlocked at purchase, including future updates.
It also keeps your data on your phone. The AI coach runs on-device with Apple Intelligence, so your food log and weight history are never uploaded, because there is no server to upload them to. Steps, sleep and workouts come in from Apple Health.
To be fair about what it is not: Silent is iOS only, and it does not do barcode or photo logging. You type what you ate, or pick a saved meal. If Yazio's guided intermittent fasting programs and a large recipe library is the reason you use it, that is a real trade-off. If the reason you are here is the price or the privacy, it is the trade-off Silent was built to make.
