How to Cancel Your Cronometer Subscription
Step-by-step instructions to cancel Cronometer on iPhone, Android, or the web, stop the renewal, and what to switch to if you still want to track calories.
How you cancel Cronometer depends on where you subscribed, not on the app itself. If you paid through the App Store, you cancel in iOS settings. If you paid through Google Play, you cancel there. If you subscribed on cronometer.com, you cancel on the website. Deleting the app never cancels a subscription.
Cancel Cronometer on iPhone
- Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Cronometer in the list.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If Cronometer is not in the list, it was not billed through Apple. Check the other methods below. You can also get here from the App Store: tap your profile picture, then Subscriptions.
Cancel Cronometer on Android
- Open the Google Play Store and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Cronometer.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Cancel Cronometer on the web
If you subscribed on the website rather than through an app store, the store settings will not show it. Sign in at cronometer.com, under Settings then Subscription and cancel from there. Web subscriptions are usually the ones people forget about, because nothing on the phone reminds you they exist.
Cancel before the renewal date
Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or billing period ends. Cancelling does not cut off access: you keep everything you paid for until the end of the current period, and then it stops. No trial is advertised; the free tier is the trial.
App stores generally do not refund a charge because you forgot to cancel. Apple lets you request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google Play has a similar form, but neither guarantees it.
What to switch to
If you are cancelling because you are done tracking, you are done. If you are cancelling because you are tired of paying every year for something that should be simple, that is the reason Silent exists.
A no-subscription alternative: Silent
Silent is a calorie, macro, habit and fasting tracker for iPhone that costs $3.99 once. There is no free tier that nags you to upgrade, no trial that converts, and no renewal. Every feature is unlocked at purchase, including future updates.
It also keeps your data on your phone. The AI coach runs on-device with Apple Intelligence, so your food log and weight history are never uploaded, because there is no server to upload them to. Steps, sleep and workouts come in from Apple Health.
To be fair about what it is not: Silent is iOS only, and it does not do barcode or photo logging. You type what you ate, or pick a saved meal. If Cronometer's lab-verified micronutrient data is the reason you use it, that is a real trade-off. If the reason you are here is the price or the privacy, it is the trade-off Silent was built to make.
See the full comparison on the Silent vs Cronometer page, or get it on the App Store.
Quick answers
Does deleting the Cronometer app cancel the subscription?
No. The subscription lives with the store you paid through. You have to cancel it in your iPhone, Google Play or website subscription settings.
Will I lose access to Cronometer immediately after cancelling?
No. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, then it stops renewing.
Can I get a refund from Cronometer?
Refunds go through the store you paid, not the app. Apple accepts requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. They are granted case by case.
